The average interest rate on credit card lending is currently 18.24%. 
- Cards with an "annual fee" often offer more rewards and benefits, or a lower interest rate.
- The credit card issuer is unlikely to inform you if you are about to go over your credit limit when you 
 make a transaction.
-simply cutting up your credit card does not automatically cancel it. some credit card issuers will charge you a fee for an `inactive account`, If you no longer need your credit card, make sure you contact your card issuer to cancel it and keep a record of the cancellation.
